                       Chapter 2 - Limbo City Streets: Night

    Raven walks through the ruined city streets slowly. She passes what had been at one time homes, offices, and businesses. Now all they are is just crumbling buildings unsafe, and unfit for people to live in. Raven's black leather trenchcoat gently flows behind her as she walks. As she walks by an alleyway she can see two little children huddled together at the entrance for warmth, and as she passes by them they look up at her then flinch away holding each other in fear. Raven shakes her head sadly as she passes by them, and sighs to herself as she thought to herself in Japanese.

             Raven (Thinking in Japanese)

Doshite? Doshite shite iru ame ga kuru e kore? Watakushi suru (de) nai wakaru otosan.

     Raven walks until she has arrived at the meeting place that Tifa wanted her to meet her at. The place that Raven had arrived at is called Seventh Heaven which is a strip bar that Raven has no interest in what so ever. Raven just shakes her head at the name as she pauses at the door for a second. She then takes a deep breath then lets it out slowly, and grinds her teeth then she pushes open the door, and enters the strip bar.

    Raven enters the bar, and hears loud heavy metal music blaring. Raven sees two men sitting at a bar. One of the men is talking while the other one is listening to him. As Raven walks passed them she can hear a bit of what the guy is saying.

                 Guy (Talking)

      ...Told her I'm not...that...type of...damn.

    The man at the bar can see how beautiful Raven is but she just ignores all the men who are staring at her. One man dressed in tight black leather pants, and black combat boots comes up to her. Raven can see that he isn't wearing a shirt so she can see his bare chest, and well-toned body. As he reaches her he stops, and greets Raven.

                   Man (Greeting Raven)

                   Bitchin' clothes

     Raven looks the man up, and down. Her crystal blue eyes are hidden behind her dark shades as she gives a smirk and replies to the man's greeting with one of her own.

               Raven (Replying)

Not too shabby yourself. I'm looking for a drunken Italian.

    The man nods his head as he gives Raven a wink, and a smirk then he asks her a question, and replies to her as well.

              Man (Asking)

You mean Tifa? She's on the second floor. Going to join in?

     Raven walks to the stairs, and climbs them pausing just for a second to give the man a smirk, and a wink back before she answers back to the man.

          Raven (Replying)

      Only if we're huntin' wabbits.

  The man then winks at Raven while giving her a smirk as he replies back to her.

           Man (Replying)

            Welcome. 

     Raven then walks up the stairs, and as she does she can hear the conversation that is going on between the three men downstairs.

            Man #1 (Warning)

You got that look in your eyes. Careful she likes it with the iron balls.

            Man #2 (Excited)

      Fine by me. Turns me on.

           Man #3 (Warning as well)

           Better forget it.

    Raven is almost to the top of the stairs as the man continues to warn the other man.

             Man #3 (Warning cont'd)

Her two guns, Vengeance, and Avenger...they're pretty hefty. And you don't need any more big holes.

      Raven reaches the top of the stairs, and she walks down the hallway passing rooms until she reaches the room at the end of the hallway. Raven then knocks on the door loudly as she calls out to Tifa.

          Raven (Calls to Tifa)

        TIFA! I'M COMING IN!

      As Raven opens the door she steps inside to see a man dead with a scythe wound going across his body as Raven says Tifa's name as a question.

           Raven (Asking)

             Tifa...?

       Raven then removes her dark shades, and puts them into her trenchcoat pocket then whips out her guns Vengeance, and Avenger with lighting speed, and shoots at both Hell Prides as they came at her sending them back to hell. Raven then shoots the other Hell Prides that have tried to sneak up behind her. Raven then yells to Tifa as she continues to kill the demons with Vengeance, and Avenger.

           Raven (Yelling at Tifa)

TIFA! WHAT THE HELL'S GOING ON?! I HEARD OF SEEING PINK ELEPHANTS, BUT THIS IS A LITTLE MUCH, DON'T YOU THINK?!

      Tifa is on the bed under the covers shaking in fright as she sees another demon appear before her, and she yells back to Raven.

         Tifa (Yelling back to Raven)

FUNNY! I'D LAUGH IF I WASN'T SCARED CRAPLESS!! NOW KNOCK OFF THE ONE LINERS AND SAVE ME!!

      Raven looks to the Hell Prides then to Tifa who is under the covers in her underwear hiding, and shivering. Raven then sighs inwardly to herself just knowing what question Tifa is going to ask. Then Raven rolls her eyes as Tifa asks her next.

            Tifa (Asking Raven)

        What are these things anyway?!

     Raven just shrugged her shoulders at Tifa as she answers her question.

            Raven (Answering Tifa)

Well, I kinda doubt they're paying customer's...unless of course you're coverin' their tab.

       Tifa's still shaking under the covers, and puts her hands over her eyes as she replies to Raven.

           Tifa (Replying to Raven)

   I wish I was drunk right now! But these creeps showed up before I could even start!

     Raven then smirks as she crosses her arms across her chest with her guns Vengeance, and Avenger in her fingerless gloved hands as she very calmly answers Tifa in a calm voice but her blue eyes have a very dangerous gleam in them.

            Raven (Calmly answering Tifa)

          Oh, well...guess we'll just bill the owner.

     Raven then uncrosses her arms aiming Vengeance, and Avenger at the Hell Prides that are charging at her. Raven then pulls the triggers on both guns at the same time shooting the demons dead on, and sending them back to hell as they turn to dust. Raven then shoots more of the Hell Prides that appeared to attack her. Raven holds her guns out in front of her as she keeps shooting at the Hell Prides that keep appearing sending each and every one of them back to hell. Raven moves her arm quickly to the side as a Hell Pride is charging to attack her buts gets shot and turns into dust instead by Raven's bullets. Raven sweeps her right arm shooting Hell Prides that are coming at her with their scythes raised high to attack but as Raven shoots them they turn to dust.

     Two of the Hell Prides manage to trap Raven in the fight between them, and both of the Hell Prides then swing their scythes at her. But Raven can see what they were about to do, and she very quickly does a back flip to avoid the Hell Pride's scythes, and while in the air Raven quickly aimed both Vengeance, and Avenger at the two demons then fired at them hitting them both on target as both demons turned to dust. Raven then lands on both feet on a piece of folded paper that is on the floor. Raven removes her foot, and kneels down to get the paper by setting down Vengeance, and picking up the paper. As she does a Hell Pride appears right next to her.  Raven then quickly stands up holding the paper, and shooting the demon with Avenger without even looking at it. Tifa scrambles back on the bed yelling out in fear as she sees the demon in front of her turn back into dust.

                Tifa (Yelling in fear)

        SON OF A--!! W-WHAT THE HELL...? SAND?!

      Raven looks at the paper she unfolds, and reads it for a few minutes not saying anything for a bit then after a while she then replies.

              Raven (Replying)

              Interesting.

      Raven then holsters Avenger, and picks up Vengeance from the floor as she continues to read to herself a bit more as another Hell Pride appears. Raven then reads the job offer out loud as she shoots the Hell Pride with Vengeance, and the demon falls to the ground not becoming dust but it can't get up.

              Raven (Reading aloud)

Four million dollar reward, eh? Not bad. "Bring back the person in the picture." So it's a bounty gig then.

     Raven then steps on the demon's skull crushing it under her boot until the Hell Pride was nothing but dust. As Raven continues to read the job offer she moves to the bed, and when she reaches the bed Raven then sits down while holstering Vengeance.

              Raven (Reading aloud cont'd)

          “To be paid in full upon completion of job"

     Raven then puts her hand into her pocket, and removes her dark shades. Raven then puts them on, and narrows her eyes as she looks at the picture of the little girl. Raven then looks again at the job offer then replies.

             Raven (Replying)

      Nothing up front, though. Wait...HEY!!

    Tifa starts to get dressed when she hears Raven's voice from behind her.

               Raven (Speaking to Tifa)

               No deal, Tifa.

     Tifa pulls on her pants, and zips them up them she turns to Raven as she holds up the picture of the little girl holding a white rabbit ragdoll. Raven narrows her eyes dangerously behind her dark shades as she asks Tifa a question with a statement.

                 Raven (Asking Tifa)

                What am I the F.B.I? I don't find missing persons.

      Tifa's mouth drops open when she hears Raven's rejection of the job offer. Tifa then closes her mouth for a few seconds to ready herself for an argument with Raven as she takes a deep breath through her nose holds it for a second then she slowly releases it through her mouth as a sigh as she asks Raven a question as well as a statement.

              Tifa (Asking Raven)

         Are you out of your damn mind? It's four mil!

      Raven then tosses the job offer with the picture back at Tifa. Then Raven answers Tifa while glaring at her behind her dark shades that always sends shivers down Tifa's spine.

              Raven (Answering Tifa)

               No thanks.

       Tifa looks at Raven in frustration as she pulls on her low cut black tank top then in a pleading voice she replies to Raven.

                Tifa (Pleading with Raven)

             But I...I already accepted the job! I was counting on you Raven.

         Tifa can see that pleading with Raven isn't working because she can see that Raven isn't showing any sort of reaction that she had heard Tifa. Tifa pulled on her boots then she placed her hands on her hips narrowing her eyes at Raven then she yells at her.

               Tifa (Yelling at Raven)

FINE THEN! YOU DON'T WANT THE JOB?! THEN GET OUT OF YOUR PLACE, THEN! YOUR FATHER GOT IT FOR SO CHEAP BECAUSE OF MY FATHER RAVEN!

       Raven glares at Tifa as she shouts this. Tifa tries not to flinch at Raven's glare, and stands her ground not backing down as she hears Raven growl at her. Raven then replies to Tifa after seeing her not back down when she growled at her.

            Raven (Replying to Tifa)

       What? My father worked there Tifa! My family lived there, and my brother and I were born there! That's my home Tifa!

       Tifa then knows that she's won this argument against Raven. She hides that fact well against Raven, and composes herself. Tifa then asks Raven a very simple question.

           Tifa (Asking Raven)

          Then may I suggest a glass of milk?

     Raven then looks down at the floor, and growls deep in her throat knowing full well that Tifa is enjoying the victory of having won this argument with her. Raven then replies to Tifa in a mix of English, and Japanese.

            Raven (Replying in both English, and Japanese to Tifa)

            Kosot! All right! I'll do it, anata chiiisai bitch....!

      Raven then stands up from the bed, and walks out of the room leaving Tifa behind. Raven then walks to the stairs in deep thought, and as she comes to the stairs she walks down them passing the men, and women who are in the strip bar. Raven reaches the door, and opens it stepping out into the night. As Raven walks she looks at the picture of the little girl again while saying quietly to herself in disbelief.

            Raven (Quietly in disbelief to herself)

          Alice in wonderland, huh? Someone’s got a pretty crummy sense of humor...

      Raven then heads into the streets heading towards Limbo City Public Library to find some answers about her latest job, to brush up on an old child's story, and to get some information on any demonic occult books or activity.
