Limbo City Public Library

Chapter 3 - Limbo City Public Library
Raven looks around in the library at all the different books but unfortunately she couldn't find any of the books she was looking for. However as Raven pulls out a book to look at she has a small flash back of her father taking her brother and her to the library for the first time.
                                 (Flash Back)
                            Limbo City Public Library
A man dressed in a red leather trenchcoat, black shirt, red leather vest, red leather pants, with a black belt, and black calf high boots. On his hands he wears black gloves. His hair is silver that is longish and hangs in his eyes. His eyes are a clear crystal blue. This man's name is Dante Sparda. Dante is showing his two six year old fraternal twin children around the library. The older boy is wearing a black leather jacket, a silver shirt, black leather pants, with a silver belt, and black steel toed combat boots. His long silver hair is tied back into a pony tail by a black hair tie. His hands are covered by black leather fingerless gloves. His eyes are a crystal blue as well. The boy's name is Sephiroth Sparda.
Beside the boy is his little sister. She is wearing a black leather trenchcoat, a purple tank top, black leather pants, with a black belt, and black leather combat boots. Her long silver hair is tied back in a ponytail by a black hair tie. Her hands are covered by black leather fingerless gloves. Her crystal blue eyes are hidden by dark shades. The girl's name is Raven Sparda.
Sephiroth and Raven stay close to their father as they walk passed rows and rows of shelves containing all kinds of books on many different types and kinds of demons. Raven looks at her brother who just shrugs, and motions for her to ask their father. Raven tugs on her father's trenchcoat to get his attention. Dante looks down at his daughter, and when Raven sees her father looking at her she stops tugging his trenchcoat, and asks him very quietly a question in Japanese.
Young Raven (Quietly asking her father in Japanese)
Otosan doshite wo watashitachi no naka de hitotsu toshokan?
Dante gives a gentle smile to his daughter and son as he kneels in front of Raven and Sephiroth as he answers Raven question quietly in Japanese as well.
Dante (Quietly answering Raven in Japanese)
Nazemara Watakushi hoshii anata futatsu e narau subete sore soko de ni futte e shiru yaku akuma's soshite doyatte e kenka karera o.
Raven and Sephiroth both nod their heads to show their father that they both understand him. Dante smiles as he sees his two very adorable children nod at the same time. Dante then pulls his two children into a hug, and they return the hug. After a moment Dante releases his children then ruffles their hair as he stands up.
                        (End Flash Back)
Raven just shakes her head at the memory, and looks at the book that she had chosen then she opens the book to read it. As Raven is reading the book a male librarian sees her, and starts to approach her. He stops at an arm's length from her then he starts to speak to her.
                   Librarian (Speaking to Raven)
It seems that you haven't been able to locate the book you seek.
Raven pauses for a moment in her reading as she hears the librarian speak to her but she doesn't reply back to him as she continues to read the book that's in her hands as the librarian continues to talk.
                  Librarian (Cont'd)
Allow me to help you. There are many, many ancient texts here. Some are...forbidden. Those volumes are kept far from public view.
Raven has her right fingerless gloved hand on the page of the old book that she's reading and yet she's listening closely to what the librarian is saying but she's careful to hide the fact from him.
                 Librarian (Cont'd)
You seek information on the demon warrior Dante. Have you read the texts recording the ancient legends?
Raven just closes her eyes for a couple of minutes to control her anger, and her emotions as the librarian says this. The librarian doesn't even notice Raven's inner turmoil as he continues to speak.
                Librarian (Cont'd)
Upon awaking to virtue, Dante turned upon his brethren, and confronted the Lord of the demons, who ruled over all the dark powers. In his rage, Dante tore him asunder.
The librarian then clasps his hands together in pure bliss as he then continues telling the legend of Raven's father to her.
                Librarian (Cont'd)
Fearing his awesome power, he sealed away not only the demons, but his own sword and powers. A beautiful legend is it not?
The librarian can see that Raven is still reading the book that she picked out so he then finishes telling her the legend of her father knowing that even though she's reading she's also listening.
               Librarian (Cont'd)
This lone demon gave up his powers to live as a man...and then settled down with a woman. And so the last demon died as a man. The evil was vanquished. The Covent was consecrated in a human woman. Evil became good, and the darkness was sealed a way forever. Simply beautiful.
The librarian can see that Raven by then closes the book that she had been reading. Raven sighs inwardly to herself as she heard the librarian finish telling her the legend of her father and the war he had fought.
               Librarian (Cont'd)
Dante's legend knows no equal...wouldn't you say?
Raven just holds the book in her hand for a few moments before she then puts it back. Raven then looks at the librarian and replies.
              Raven (Replying to librarian)
Great story, old man. Can't wait for the movie. However...that's not the book I'm looking for. So save your breath.
Raven's hand goes to the sword on her back as she sees that the librarian is staring at her intently as if he was planing something that she certainly wasn't going to like.
             Librarian (Asking Raven)
Then...then what tale do you seek?
Raven just keeps silent with her hand on Rebellion's handle as the librarian has his female assistant walk towards Raven with a book in her hands. Raven's grip on Rebellion tightens as the female assistant comes near her as the male librarian continues.
                 Librarian (Cont'd)
Oh...I know. How about the story of how the woman who copulated with the demon...gave birth to fraternal twins? Is this tale more to your liking?
As the female assistant comes close to Raven offering her the book so she can see it. Raven just glares at the assistant through her dark shades as she is holding out the book for Raven to take however instead of taking the book Raven quickly unsheathes Rebellion, and slices Rebellion right through her perfectly slicing the female assistant cleanly in two.
The librarian has some of his assistant's blood on his face as he sees her dead body on the floor then he looks at Raven as she has her sword to his neck as she narrows her eyes dangerously behind her dark shades at him. Raven then gives him a warning to show him that she wasn't in the mood to play his little games.
              Raven (Warning librarian)
That's strike two. The next one lands across your neck.
The librarian stays very still, and wisely doesn't anger Raven any further as he then replies to her.
             Librarian (Replying to Raven)
Very well. But heed this...there are reasons those texts are forbidden.
The librarian pauses for just a second to look at Raven to see her nod her head to show him that she's listening to him, and that he should continue with what he is saying. Raven also doesn’t remove Rebellion from his neck as a reminder to him that if he tries any games with her he wouldn't live to see another day.
               Librarian (Cont'd)
People subconsciously fear evil. And yet many are drawn to it, like moths to the flame. It whispers to them, offering great power. It is, in fact the ultimate equalizer. They embrace it, yet their fear makes them rationalize their actions, because they cannot bear...to recognize the evil inside them.
Raven is listening very closely to what the librarian is saying to her, and she understands every word that he is saying to be the truth in what he means. Raven then nods her head to the librarian once more to encourage him to continue. The librarian who sees Raven nod her head to him then continues with what he is saying after seeing her nod.
               Librarian (Cont'd)
The texts you seek contain knowledge and temptations many would consider...unnatural. It is wise that people know the presence of evil and fear it. When you look into the abyss...
The librarian then pauses once again to see that Raven is glaring at him through her dark shades as she narrows her eyes once again at hm. The librarian then takes a breath slowly so not to piss Raven off and have her "accidently" cut his head off. Then the librarian carefully lets it out as he finishes up what he has to say to Raven.
                Librarian (Cont'd)
...The abyss also looks back into you.
Raven then looks at the librarian who is smirking at her. Raven can tell that he is telling her the truth and she then removes Rebellion from the librarian's neck, and sheathes the sword on her back as she then asks him a question.
                Raven (Asking the librarian)
You done, tall, bald, and ugly?
The librarian sighs inwardly to himself at Raven's lack of respect towards him but he nods his head at her as he replies to her question.
                   Librarian (Answering Raven)
Quite. Now let us talk about Dante.
After Raven was done talking about her father with the librarian she then leaves the library so glad to be in the welcoming darkness of Limbo City. Raven then goes to find where Tifa is so she can tell her that she got the information on where to find that kid named Alice.
                          (Fade To Black)
