Chapter 10 - Back To Limbo Castle Ballroom
Rabbi's ear lies on the ground as a cold voice asks a question in English.
Voice (Asking Rabbi coldly in English)
The key...?
Rabbi looks at the young man who is leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. Rabbi can see that the young man is holding his katana Yamato in one hand. Rabbi answers the young man's question in English.
Rabbi (Answering the young man in English)
The young man looks at Rabbi as he says this. The young man then nods his head to show that he understands what Rabbi is telling him. Rabbi sees the young man nod his head, and hears the young man quietly repeat what Rabbi had just told him.
Young Man (Quietly to himself)
Temen-ni-gru...
Rabbi nods his head to the young man as he hears him say this. Rabbi then continues to speak to the young man as he listens to Rabbi.
Rabbi (Cont'd)
Dante created a seal that will mobilize Temen-ni-gru. It can only be opened by breaking four guardian measures. But that should be child's play for a child of Dante.
The young man is quiet as he thinks about what Rabbi has just told him. Rabbi is quiet as well so he doesn't disturb the young man's thoughts. The young man then looks at Rabbi and nods his head to continue. Rabbi sees the young man nod his head and he then continues.
Rabbi (Cont'd)
Next with Temen-ni-gru, you open the second seal. Unlike the first one it cannot be opened with strength alone. Only he who holds the key to the demon world can pass. The key to the demon is broken into two pieces.
The young man looks down at the amulet that hangs around his neck on a golden chain. The young man then speaks softly.
Young Man (Speaking softly)
Two...
Rabbi sees the young man holding his amulet in a gloved hand, and he keeps quiet for a moment as the young man is thinking. Rabbi then sees the young man nod then Rabbi continues to speak.
Rabbi (Cont'd)
Yes. The amulets that Dante divided between his son and daughter. The son and daughter who were meant to be one. The one key, which is now two. Since you were born as two, everything hai been divided between you.
Rabbi can see how tightly the young man is holding his amulet just as Raven did to hers. Rabbi can see that the young man looks almost like his sister except for their eye Rabbi can see a cold fire in the young man's eyes while Raven had a passionate fire in hers. Rabbi then continues to speak to the young man.
Rabbi (Cont'd)
Same faces. Same powers. Dante's powers have indeed been divided between you.
The young man then moves away from the wall that he was leaning against with Yamato still in his hand, and his arms uncrossed b his sides. Rabbi then sees that the young man then narrows his crystal blue eyes at him dangerously as the young man then asks him a question.
Young Man (Asking Rabbi)
Are you trying to say that I'm only half a man?
Rabbi then sees that the young man has his hand on the handle of Yamato. The young man then draws out the sword as he asks this question, and then the young man quickly slashes at Rabbi then he sheathes his sword. As he does Rabbi's other ear joins the first one on the floor as Rabbi answers his question.
Rabbi (Answering the young man)
No. I'm saying that you and Raven need each other.
The young man then glares at Rabbi as he tells this to him. Before Rabbi even knows the young man quickly draws Yamato and slashes at the rag doll. As the young man sheathes his blade Rabbi then before the young man can sheathe the blade all the way Rabbi says his last words to the young man.
Rabbi (Cont'd)
Two amulets. Two keys. Until the two are joined, the path to the demon world shall not open.
The young man then sheathed his sword closed with a click, and Rabbi then falls to pieces on the ground in front of the young man. Rabbi's glasses then fall near the young man's boots. The young man then lifts his boot up then he crushes the glasses under his boot as he speaks in an icy cold tone.
Young Man (Speaking coldly)
Advice from a rag doll. That is insulting on so many levels...
Alice then wakes up to see Rabbi on the ground in so many pieces at the young man's feet. Alice then crawls to what remains of Rabbi with unshed tears in her eyes. As Alice picks up Rabbi’s head she then starts to cry. The young man watches Alice as she then says Rabbi's name in English as she's crying.
Alice (Speaking in English while crying)
Rabbi...Rabbi...Rabbi...Rabbi...Rabbi...?
The young man then glares down at Alice as she continues to cry while holding on to Rabbi's head as she says Rabbi's name once more in sorrow.
Alice (Cont'd)
Rabbi...
(Fade To Black)
Seventh Heaven Strip Bar
Loud heavy metal music is blaring as a male stripper is dancing on a pole on the stage to the beat of the music. Tifa is sitting at a table nearby the stage with two men eating food, and getting drunk as hell. Tifa talks to the two men sitting with her at the table.
Tifa (Speaking to the men)
Drink up, boys! Sky's the limit!
One of the men leans close to Tifa, and asks her a question.
Man #1 (Asking Tifa)
Really, baby?
Tifa in a very drunken state looks at the man with lust in her brown eyes answers his question.
Tifa (Answering the man)
Of course! Never let it be said that Tifa doesn't know how to treat the men!
Both of the men look at Tifa, and then they look back at each other. Then the second man that is sitting beside Tifa smiles at her as he speaks to her.
Man #2 (Speaking to Tifa)
You're kinda sexy...in a greasy, sorta way.
Tifa then smiles at both of the men as she then raises her beer bottle in the air as she continues to speak with both men.
Tifa (Cont'd)
We can drink everything in this place, and still get change back!
Tifa is so drunk that she doesn't notice Raven walking towards her table with an angered look on her face. Tifa then just raises her beer bottle again as she continues to speak to the men beside her.
Tifa (Cont'd)
Stock up on ya proteins, boys! The three of us got a long night comin'!
As Tifa then raises her beer bottle to drink some more from it the bottle then shatters to pieces before it can even touch her lips, and Tifa startled then yells out.
Tifa (Yelling)
WHAT THE HELL?!
Tifa then looks up to see a very pissed off Raven holding her gun Vengeance right in her face. Raven then yells right in Tifa's face in English.
Raven (Yelling at Tifa in English)
TIFA! YOU LITTLE RAT BITCH...!!
Raven just keeps Vengeance aimed at Tifa as she glares at her behind her dark shades that she always wears over her crystal blue eyes. Raven then furiously growls out a warning to Tifa.
Raven (Growling out a warning to Tifa)
If you've spent my cut, so help me...!
Tifa is scared shitless of seeing Raven so angered at her that she starts to stutter like mad as she tries to calm Raven down.
Tifa (Stuttering)
RAVEN!! W-WAIT!! C-CHILL OUT, GIRL!!
Raven then growls softly as she then starts to very slowly squeeze Vengeance's trigger as Tifa then tries to quickly explain to her.
Tifa (Explaining to Raven)
O-of course I didn't spend your share!
Raven nods her head to Tifa as she then removes her finger off Vengeance's trigger. Raven then twirls Vengeance on her finger as she then speaks to Tifa.
Raven (Speaking to Tifa)
Good.
Tifa can see that Raven is still pissed as hell at her, and so she gets down on her knees to try to again calm Raven down as she continues to speak.
Tifa (Cont'd)
I couldn't spend it all if I drank for the rest of my life!
Raven looks at the way Tifa is on the ground kneeling in front of her, and it just makes Raven sick to her stomach that she just wants to spit in disgust at her. Raven then sighs inwardly as she then bends down, and pulls Tifa to her feet as she stands back up. Raven then holds Tifa by the collor of her jacket as she looks her right in the eye. Raven then gives Tifa the only warning that she's intending to give her.
Raven (Warning Tifa)
You lie to me again, you're gonna have far more holes then nature intended. This is the only warning I'm giving you. Do you understand Tifa?
Raven then sees Tifa nod her head very quickly to show that she understands very word that Raven has said. Raven then releases her, and Tifa looks round looking for Alice. Tifa then very nervously asks Raven where Alice is.
Tifa (Nervously asking Raven)
Um...s-so...where's the girl? Where's Alice?
Raven sighs inwardly as she puts Vengeance back under her trenchcoat in its holster as she then rolls her eyes behind her dark shades as she then answers Tifa's questions.
Raven (Answering Tifa)
She wanted to stay in wonderland.
Raven can see how shocked Tifa is by her answer to her questions. Raven then knew what is coming next as she braces for Tifa's outburst. Tifa then quickly shakes her head after the shock at what Raven just said to her. Tifa then looks at Raven as she then yells at her.
Tifa (Yelling at Raven)
WHAT?! YOU MEAN YOU DIDN'T FINISH THE JOB?! BUT MY TAB'S ALREADY UP BY FIFTY GRAND!!
Raven once again just rolls her eyes behind her dark shades as she then reaches for a beer bottle. Raven's hand then closes around it, and she lifts it to her lips taking a long drink from it. Raven then lowers the bottle so she can answer Tifa.
Raven (Answering Tifa)
Relax. I got the money.
Tifa then looks at Raven again with a confused look on her face, and against her better judgement she asks Raven some questions which her common sense was telling her not to but she wasn't listening to it, and asks Raven the questions anyway.
Tifa (Asking Raven)
You did? Without fulfilling the contract? But...how?
Raven slams the bottle down on the table with a look of pure fury on her face as she has Vengeance in her hand, and faster than Tifa can even blink Raven has Vengeance's muzzle pressed right against Tifa's forehead. Tifa's eyes widen in terror as she stays very still knowing one wrong move on her part can have Raven pull the trigger. Tifa can see how furious Raven is with her by looking at her face. Raven then starts to yell at Tifa as she can see her fear on her face.
Raven (Yelling at Tifa0
SINCE WHEN DID THE GIRL PACKIN' HEAT BECOME THE ONE TO SPILL THE BEANS, HUH?
Raven keeps Vengeance pressed against Tifa's forehead to show that she's extremely pissed off at her. Raven can see the fear in Tifa's eyes as she continues to yell at her.
Raven (Yelling cont'd)
MAYBE YOU SHOULD ASK THE PSYCHOTIC DEMON YOU SET ME UP WITH! EITHER THAT, OR CLOSE THAT CAVITY FACTORY YOU CALL A MOUTH! YEAH, THAT'D RELAX MY TRIGGER FINGER A BUNCH.
Raven glares at Tifa as her body starts to shake in fear. Raven looks at Tifa as she then tries to speak to Raven without stuttering but failing.
Tifa (Stuttering)
R-Raven...I'm your p-partner...
Raven just gives another glare at Tifa as she says this as she then starts to slowly squeeze Vengeance's trigger. Tifa's eyes go wide as she sees the fury on Raven's face as she then speaks angrily to Tifa.
Raven (Speaking angrily to Tifa)
Not anymore.
Raven sees the desperation in Tifa's eyes as she looks at Raven. Raven can see that Tifa is pleading to her to not pull the trigger, and that she wants the chance to make things right between them once more. Raven then sees Tifa slowly get down on her knees, and puts her hands together as she pleads with Raven.
Tifa (Pleading with Raven on her knees)
C'mon Raven...! I get you, work right?!
Raven looks at Tifa with disgust to see her back down on her knees in front of her again. Raven then grinds her teeth as she knows that what Tifa is saying is the truth. Raven glares at Tifa because she does bring her work. Raven then holster's Vengeance back under her trenchcoat once again as Tifa then speak stuttering gratefully.
Tifa (Stuttering gratefully)
Th-thank C-christ...
Raven then reaches down a fingerless gloved hand, and grabs a hold of Tifa by her leather jacket. Raven then pulls Tifa up, and close so that they're face to face. Raven then growls as she gives Tifa a final warning.
Raven (Growling a final warning to Tifa)
Listen up, and listen good Tifa because this is the final straw. I want more through background checks on clients from now on. You got that bitch? I want no more fucking bullshit from you, or clients. Do you understand me Tifa?
Raven then sees Tifa nodding her head, and she releases Tifa by shoving her away. Tifa lands on the floor, and looks up to see Raven walk past her without giving her another look. Raven then heads for the door opens it then leaves the strip bar to be back into the quiet night.
Limbo City Streets - Night
Raven is walking through the streets of the ruined city enjoying how quiet it was but careful not to lower her guard in case any demons attacked her. Raven passed by the ruined buildings of homes, and offices as she walks back to her office building of Devil May Cry. As Raven keeps walking she then smirks as she thinks to herself in Japanese.
Raven (Thinking in Japanese)
So...kare wa's ikiteiru.
Raven then arrives at the Devil May Cry office building where she lives, and works. Raven pauses outside her home, and looks up to see the huge neon sign glowing red with the words Devil May Cry on it in huge letters. Raven then sees that the letter d is flickering, and she smiles knowing that the letter is flickering but will never burn out. Raven then sighs as she walks up the front steps, and opens the doors.
Raven then walks into the office closing the doors behind her. Raven then takes off her black leather trenchcoat, and hangs it up by the coat rack that she keeps by the door. There is a soft clink noise as she does because her two guns Vengeance, and Avenger are in the holsters that are sewn into the back of her trenchcoat. Raven then yawns as she walks over to the couch, and then she just flops onto it on her back not bothering to remove her shades. Raven yawns again as she looks at the ceiling for a bit then she sighs as her eyes close, and she falls into uneasy sleep.
(Fade To Black)
Raven's Nightmare - Inside Raven's Mind
All Raven can see is darkness all around her, and she knows that she's going to see the nightmarish event once again. Raven feels something latch onto her wrists as she looks down to see black cuffs on them, and she can see that chains are hanging from the wall. Raven knows that she always chained to the black wall behind her every night as she sees the nightmare play out. Raven is always restrained but she always fights to get free from her restrains, and as she fights she always hears someone laughing at her.
Raven then sees a mirror in front of her as she always does whenever the nightmare starts, and she starts to struggle to get out of the chains as she hears a woman panting from running. Raven then squeezes her eyes shut so she wouldn't have to see the woman's face however it's no use because her eyes are forced open once again. Raven is then forced to look at her mother Delia Sparda as she's running away from demons that are chasing her.
Raven keeps struggling against the chains, and she tries to pull her hands free from the cuffs but as always it never does any good as she feels the cuffs cut into her wrists drawing blood. Delia keeps running from the demons as she yells to Raven in English.
Delia (Yelling at Raven in English)
RUN AWAY, RAVEN...!
Raven sees the demon that's chasing her mother. Raven can see that it’s getting closer, and closer as her mother is panting heavily as the demon got close. Raven then again struggles to once again free herself from the chains that hold her the cuffs cut even deeper into her wrists which only draw more blood. Raven then stops her struggling as she hears her mother continuing to yell at her.
Delia (Yelling cont'd)
YOU MUST NEVER COME OUT! NO MATTER WHAT, YOU MUST HIDE!
Raven watches helplessly as the demon got closer to her mother, and getting ready to pounce on her. Raven tries to pull the chains out of the ceiling in desperation to get free, and save her mother from the demons as Raven hears her mother yell her final words to her.
Delia (Yelling final words to Raven)
LISTEN TO ME, RAVEN! NO MATTER WHAT!
Raven then watches as the demon pounces on her knocking her to the ground, and as Raven watches helplessly chained to the ceiling as the demon starts to devour her mother alive. Raven then shuts her eyes as the demon tears into her mother's flesh. Raven then hears her mother's final scream as she is being ripped apart, and devoured by the demon.
Delia (Screams)
AAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!
Raven stops her struggling against the chains as she sees her father, and mother dead on the ground. The chains keep Raven from slumping to the ground as she sees the massacre of her family. Raven cries in despair as she looks at the bodies of her parents. As Raven cries she can hear what the two demons are talking about in English.
Demon #1 (Speaking in English)
The family is dead. Dante, his human woman, and their child...
Raven feels sadness and rage as she hears the first demon say this. However Raven understands that the second demon seems to be uncertain about that as it asks the first one in English as well.
Demon #2 (Asking the first in English)
All of them?
Raven then knows why the second demon asks this. Raven can see the crawl space where her mother had placed her to hide from the demons. Raven can see her younger self hiding, and shaking with fear. Raven can also see that the demons didn't know about her, and that they thought that Dante, and Delia had only one child, and not two. Raven then listens as the first demon answers the second.
Demon #1 (Answering the second demon)
Yes. We've killed them all.
Raven looks to see her younger self come out of her hiding place after the demons have left the house. Raven can see that her younger self is crying as she is looking at the dead bodies of her parents. Raven can see that her younger self has stopped crying, and ran up the stairs to get something. Raven can see her younger self bringing down a small pack on her back, and she can see a determined look on her younger self's face. Raven can feel the cuffs come off her wrists as she suddenly collapses onto the ground. Raven then looks up at her younger self. Her younger self looks at the older Raven, and takes off her pack, and looks through it. She finds what she's looking for then throws two guns at the older Raven's feet. Raven looks at her younger self and nods as she picks up the guns as she suddenly wakes up.
(Fade To Black)
Devil May Cry Office - Night
Raven suddenly wakes up covered in sweat and tears as she looks up at the celling to get her bearings. Raven then sits up, and puts a fingerless gloved hand over her face as she speaks to herself out loud in Japanese.
Raven (To herself out loud in Japanese)
Otosan...okasan...oniisan...
Raven then gets up from the couch that she had been lying on, and walks to the coat rack by the door. Raven stops by it then grabs her black leather trenchcoat. Raven looks down at herself to see that she's wearing her clothes that she fell asleep in but she doesn't care as she then pulls on her trenchcoat. Raven then reaches underneath her trenchcoat, and takes her two guns Vengeance, and Avenger out of the holsters that she keeps them in. Raven looks at the .9mm Desert Eagles in her hands. Raven then checks them to make sure that they are fully loaded.
Raven sees that they are full loaded then she places Vengeance and Avenger back into their holsters under her trenchcoat. Raven then walks to her desk, and grabs her katana Rebellion. Raven then unsheathes the sword looking at and admiring the beauty of the sword that her father gave her a long time ago as a keepsake, and as a memento of him. Raven then looks up at the ceiling fan, and she swings her sword at it with a smirk on her face. As Raven then sheathes her sword the ceiling fan falls to the ground in pieces along with pieces of the ceiling.
Raven then looks up to see that she has destroyed most of the ceiling when she was testing the sword. Raven then scratches the back of her head in embarrassment as she sees that the ceiling in now in need of desperate repair as she swears loudly in English.
Raven (Swearing loudly in English)
Shit...if dad and mom were alive right now they'd both kill me for destroying both the ceiling and the ceiling fan. This is just mother fucking great! Now I'll have to work extremely hard to pay for the repairs! Sometimes I just hate my fucking life. Fuck!
(Fade To Black)
Limbo Castle Ballroom
Sephiroth just looks on as Alice continues to cry over her cut up rag doll Rabbi.
Alice (Crying)
Ngh...ngh...Rabbi...
Sephiroth just gives Alice a cold glare as he quickly unsheathes Yamato, and slashes at Rabbi's head that is in Alice's arms. Sephiroth then looks at Alice's shocked face as he slowly sheathes Yamato. Then when Sephiroth sheathes the sword all the way Rabbi's head then poofs into the air as Alice then screams out her sorrow as Sephiroth then walks to the open doors of the ballroom to leave.
Alice (Screams in sorrow)
AH...AAAAGGGGHHHH!
Sephiroth then pauses as he hears Alice scream in sorrow then he turns his head slightly to her as he then speaks to her in a very cold tone of voice in English.
Sephiroth (Speaking coldly to Alice in English)
If all you can do is cry...then its better that it's gone.
Sephiroth then looks ahead as he continues to walk out of the ballroom, and he leaves Alice back in the ballroom to sobbing on the floor.
